The headquarters of Albkontrol is part of the “Mother Teresa” airport complex. The building, with a height of 2 floors and a control tower with 9 floors, has a length of 82 m and a width of about 30 m. In the north it is bordered by the runway while in the south it is bordered by the highway.
The main entrance to the building is located in the north-west, also the building has several entrances in the southern part of the building. In the main entrance, through the hall, the distribution is realized on the floors and in the offices. The facades of the building are interwoven with various materials such as alucobond, stone tiles, plastic plaster and structural glass windows. In the part of the facade covered with stone tiles, there was damage to it, creating the detachment of the tiles, also in the structural windows, some panels were detached from the supporting structure, falling on the sidewalk.
The interiors on both floors are divided into offices with gypsum walls according to early requirements. These walls do not meet the criteria for acoustic requirements between offices. In the offices, the ground floor and the first floor are paved with carpets, which turned out to be unhygienic. Both floors have plaster ceilings and ceiling lights. In some offices on the first floor, the presence of moisture in some corners of the building has been ascertained as problems of penetration of the terrace layers. The windows are made of duralumin with a height of 2m, while the doors are tambourine.
Part of this project will be the intervention in the reorganization of some office premises, in the facade of the building, on the terrace and in the creation of a control access at the entrance of the building. All these changes will follow changes in the mechanical and electrical system of the existing building.
According to the demands of the workflow and the needs of the staff, the redistribution of the offices has been done by breaking down the existing gypsum walls and creating large spaces for a larger number of employees. The offices on the first floor have been reorganized according to the hierarchy of employees. On both floors there are facilities for office, printer and a corner for cafeteria. Around the desks are placed furniture for various archives and documents. On the ground floor, the environment of the conference hall, the rest room of the engineers, etc. has been recreated. The partition of the premises, on both floors, will be with gypsum wall up to a height of 95 cm and with glass windows up to the height of the suspended ceiling. On the first floor, the rest room, recreation, gym, brief room, etc. have been reconceptualized. Interference with the floor will consist of removing the carpet and breaking the layers where necessary for installations and laying the floor with transparent resin on photo paper. The ceilings of both floors will be demolished by reformulating the form and manner of distribution of luminaires according to the organization of offices and work desks.
On the facade of the building, all the damage to the cladding with stone tiles will be repaired and the broken glass windows and their accessories will be repaired. Due to the damage of the terrace layers, the existing layers will be demolished and the waterproofing layer of the whole surface of the terrace will be restored in its 2-storey part.
At the entrance of the building will be created a new 1-storey environment where there will be access control and metal detector for employees who will enter the building. The addition will be a new reinforced concrete structure attached to the existing structure. Its facades will be structural with double glazed panels integrated with the existing facade.
